KND Surveys is a family run business that has been providing a friendly and professional service for over 35 years.
After completing his formal education in 1972 Nigel Davies, the founder, began working for Amey Roadstone Limited as a setting out engineer on road improvement projects and the M40 in Buckinghamshire.
In 1973 he was offered a job as setting out engineer for Lovells undertaking work for major housing developments in the Home Counties and soon after was offered the job of supervising other setting out engineers throughout southern England.
Shortly thereafter he was employed by Hoare Lea and Partners, as part of an experienced team undertaking the surveys of all of the Sultan’s royal properties in the Sultanate of Oman. This extended into working on road projects throughout that country.
In 1979 Nigel was asked to jointly manage the significant surveying presence in Libya, being responsible for supervising the surveying teams and also generating new work. The projects involved extensive urban surveys, road surveys and oil pipeline surveys in both urban and desert environments.
Having gained extensive experience in surveying and business development, Nigel set up his own survey practice (KND Surveys) in 1981, that business grew rapidly and became incorporated in 2000 as KND Surveys Ltd as it is known today. Since then it has further expanded and has built an enviable reputation as a friendly, experienced and very competent survey company.
Both of Nigel's sons have been working at KND for numerous years. John Davies, Nigel's eldest, started at KND in 2001. Mark Davies, Nigel's youngest, started his career in surveying at KND in 2003. In 2016 both John and Mark were appointed as directors of the company.
Although now a medium sized company KND Surveys Ltd has never lost the original ethos of providing good quality surveys and very importantly generating a reputation for completing work on time. We have a very high staff retention rate which ensures that we always have highly experienced surveyors on hand for any type of project.
Throughout the years surveying methods and equipment has definitely changed.
But here at KND Surveys Ltd we have ensured that we keep up to date with the latest equipment and methods available and will continue to do so as technology progresses.
