Founded by Nigel Davies in 1981, our company has grown from a small practice into a well-respected medium-sized business known for its friendly, reliable, and highly skilled team.

Surveying Services.

Nigel began his career in 1972, working on road projects for Amey Roadstone Limited before moving to Lovells, where he was responsible for setting out major housing developments across Southern England. His expertise took him overseas to Oman and Libya, where he managed significant surveying projects, from royal properties to urban and desert infrastructure.

In 2000, KND Surveys became incorporated as KND Surveys Ltd, and has since continued to expand, now with Nigel’s wife Karen and their sons, John and Mark, as directors. Although we have grown in size, our core values remain unchanged – we are committed to delivering quality, precision, and completing projects on time.

We combine years of experience with modern technology to stay at the forefront of the industry, ensuring our clients receive the best service possible. Our team’s dedication and high staff retention rate ensure that we provide expertise for any surveying requirement. Meet Some of the Team​

At KND Surveys Ltd., our team is a vital part of everything we do. With decades of combined experience in surveying, each member brings a unique set of skills and expertise. Every project is approached with precision and care, ensuring our clients receive the best possible service.

Get to know some of the team.

team members

John Davies

John has been at the company for more than 23 years. He manages and final verifies all the CAD work involved within our projects. With his attention to detail John takes pride in the feedback we receive from our clients regarding how our drawings are presented.

John enjoys spending his time outside of work playing electric and acoustic guitar. Along with music he also tries his hand at sketching and drawing, mainly in pencil or watercolour. John likes his sport, in particular football and golf.

Mark Davies

Mark now has over 21 years’ experience within surveying. Starting at the company as a survey assistant mainly on the topographic team before focussing more on measured building surveys which he greatly enjoyed. In recent years Mark has introduced and managed our 3D scanning projects while training others to continue this work.

Outside of work, Mark likes to find his way on to the golf course where his game is very much “work in progress” and has been for some time, he thinks he just needs better clubs.

Susan Sharrad

Susan is quite often the first point of contact within our company for our clients. She is a truly valued member of the team and has been for many years. As a fantastic organiser, Susan really is a vital cog which helps the company to run smoothly.

When not at work Susan is known for her volunteer work within the community. She likes to spend time in the garden, trying her hand at growing various fruits and vegetables (some more successful than others). When not in the garden, Susan also enjoys spending time art and crafting.

Ross Glenister

Ross has been with KND Surveys for over 27 years. He has a wealth of experience and has played a major part in training many of our surveyors in our team. Ross’ ability to work out and manage our on-site building surveys is second to none. We believe in his time here he has surveyed large parts of London in particular Marylebone.

Outside of work Ross enjoys playing and watching different sports, in particular Badminton and Ice Hockey.

Nigel Davies

In addition to having oversight of the company he looks after the assessment and purchase of new equipment and software. He also develops his own software to assist in keeping KND Surveys operating accurately, safely and efficiently. He began his career in 1970 before the arrival of electronic survey equipment and computers, this experience enables him to think ‘outside the box’ when complex situations arise.

When not working in the company he spends his time in charity work and tries to keep a trio of old Lotus cars on the road.

Karen Davies

Karen was a state registered nurse as well as the financial director of the company and, as such, looks after all of our health and safety aspects. In the early days of the company, Karen gave up nursing following the birth of John and Mark and became a part time survey assistant to Nigel thereby acquiring knowledge of surveying both on site and in the office.

Karen is also involved in charity work and enjoys walking in the Lake District with Nigel. When winter comes, she can be found quilt making and crafting with the grandchildren.
